"Load-Resource Balance in the Western Interconnection: Towards 2020," Western Electric Energy Leaders (WEIL)
E3 was hired by WEIL, a group of western utility executives, to study high-priority transmission projects in light of new Renewable Portfolio Standard (RPS) and greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction goals. The study is not restricted by existing control area or jurisdictional boundaries. It takes a much broader “regional” perspective allowing sharing the benefits of large new investments in transmission and renewable or low-carbon resources.
