Mike King + A Senior Consultant, Mr. King’s areas of expertise include cost-effectiveness evaluation, resource planning, rate design, market restructuring, and demand-side management. Recent project work includes cost-effectiveness evaluation of the California Solar Initiative (CSI) program, assisting the state of California in redesign of the long-term resource planning process, and conducting a study on the cost of electrification for Southern California Gas Company. He has assisted in numerous analyses of transmission rate issues for Canadian transmission providers. Additionally, he has conducted analyses for avoided cost estimation, provided litigation support and damages estimates for a large industrial customer, and conducted cost-benefit analysis of renewable distributed generation. His prior experience includes product management and marketing at PG&E Energy Services and in the telecommunications sector, and DSM program design and evaluation at the consulting firm of Barakat & Chamberlin. His published works are in the field of rate design and electricity deregulation. Mr. King earned his M.PAff. from the LBJ School of Public Affairs at the University of Texas, Austin and his B.A. English and B.A. Social Ecology from the University of California, Irvine.
