E3 has announced that it has been selected by the California Energy Commission to receive a $1.5 million grant to assess the value of long-duration energy storage in meeting the state’s requirement to decarbonize the electricity sector and achieve a carbon-neutral economy by 2045. Long-duration energy storage could, if deployed at scale, provide new, cost-effective pathways to enable the clean energy transition while maintaining reliability for all customers.
