Bob Zavadil

Bob Zavadil is a Senior Director at E3, bringing over 45 years of experience in the electric power industry. His expertise spans transmission and distribution planning, renewable integration, and grid modernization. Over his career, Bob has led studies on power system stability, transients, harmonics, and advanced protection schemes, working with utilities, national labs, and regulatory agencies for successful integration of variable energy technologies.

Bob began his career at the Nebraska Public Power District, where he focused on transmission and distribution system planning and operations. He then joined Electrotek Concepts, a consulting firm specializing in studies on renewable energy, power quality, and contract research development. In 2003, he co-founded EnerNex, where he played a pivotal role in developing industry-leading methodologies for wind and solar integration studies, supporting the interconnection of nearly 100 GW of wind and 50 GW of solar.

At E3, Bob is focused on strengthening the firm’s capabilities in distribution engineering, integrating this lens for more cohesive system planning and helping clients navigate the evolving challenges of a modern grid.

Beyond his professional work, Bob is an avid golfer and enjoys saltwater fishing and cooking.
