Will Beattie supports E3’s Asset Valuation and Markets practice area. Will joined E3 after earning a master’s degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Stanford University. During graduate school, he worked for UL Solutions performing due diligence analysis on wind farms, solar plants, and battery storage projects in North America. Prior to graduate school, he earned a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Auburn University, conducted research on carbon sequestration in saline aquifers, and performed traditional civil engineering design on solar farms and natural gas power plants during internships.

Energy is fascinating to Will because it is so closely tied to quality of life, economic development, and environmental impact. In particular, Will is interested in the sustainable development of energy systems, including the governmental and economic structures that ensure reliable and efficient operation. The energy transition presents an essential opportunity for a bottom-up transformation of energy systems worldwide and he is eager to contribute to it.

Outside of work, Will enjoys spending time outdoors with friends doing activities such as hiking, fly fishing, and camping. He has a life goal to visit every national park in the US (he’s at 18 so far).

Education: MS, Civil and Environmental Engineering, Stanford University; BS, Civil Engineering, Auburn University
